Common Yacht Terminology – You May Hear During Your Private Charter copy

Two important words for your boat are the bow and the stern.  The bow refers to the front of the boat, while the stern is the back.  Port is the left-side of the boat when facing the front of the boat.  The opposite of this is starboard, the right-side of the boat.  Other terminology that you might hear when describing an area of your luxury yacht are foredeck and aft deck.  The foredeck is the forward deck of the boat, while aft deck refers to the rear deck.
